Eligibilty Criteria

To be eligible for funding, organisations must demonstrate a strong commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and well‑governed youth sport environments. Applicants must be registered community clubs, schools, nonprofits, or youth‑focused organisations delivering structured sport or physical activity programs for children and teens. Eligible organisations must have clear safeguarding policies, transparent governance, responsible financial management, and the capacity to deliver programs that prioritise child safety, inclusion, and long‑term community impact. Preference is given to groups that actively remove participation barriers, engage diverse communities, and show a genuine commitment to protecting and empowering young people through sport.

Eligibility Criteria — Checklist

• Be a registered organisation such as a community sport club, school, nonprofit, youth centre, or grassroots sport program. • • Deliver structured sport or physical activity programs for children and young people (generally ages 5–18). • • Demonstrate strong safeguarding practices, including child‑safe policies, codes of conduct, and clear reporting pathways. • • Have transparent governance and responsible financial management, with the ability to administer grant funds appropriately. • • Show capacity to deliver programs safely and consistently, including trained coaches, volunteers, or staff. • • Commit to inclusion and accessibility, actively reducing barriers for young people from diverse or disadvantaged backgrounds. • • Operate in communities where support is needed, including metropolitan, regional, or remote areas. • • Align with the Foundation’s mission, prioritising child safety, wellbeing, and long‑term community impact. • • Be willing to participate in monitoring and evaluation, including reporting on outcomes and safeguarding compliance

Application Process

Our application process is designed to be transparent, supportive, and accessible for organisations of all sizes. Eligible groups begin by submitting an online Expression of Interest outlining their program, safeguarding practices, and community need. Shortlisted applicants are then invited to complete a full application, including evidence of governance, child‑safe policies, and program delivery capacity. Our team reviews each submission against our funding priorities, safeguarding standards, and community impact criteria. Successful organisations are notified in writing and may be asked to participate in onboarding, reporting, and evaluation activities to ensure funding is used safely, responsibly, and for the benefit of young people.

Checklist

Step 1: Expression of Interest (EOI) Submit a brief overview of your organisation, program goals, and safeguarding approach. Step 2: Eligibility Screening Our team reviews your EOI to confirm alignment with our mission and eligibility criteria. Step 3: Full Application Invitation Shortlisted organisations are invited to provide detailed information, including governance documents, safeguarding policies, and program plans. Step 4: Assessment & Review Applications are evaluated against our funding categories, safeguarding standards, inclusion priorities, and community impact potential. Step 5: Funding Decision Successful applicants receive written confirmation and next‑steps guidance. Step 6: Onboarding & Agreement Organisations complete onboarding, sign funding agreements, and confirm reporting requirements. Step 7: Program Delivery & Reporting Funded organisations deliver their programs and provide updates, safeguarding compliance checks, and outcome reporting.

Required Documents — Checklist

Organisations will need to provide the following documents as part of their full application: 1. Proof of organisational registration (e.g., certificate of incorporation, school registration, charity/NFP registration) 2. Current safeguarding and child‑safe policies. Including codes of conduct, reporting pathways, and supervision guidelines. 3. Working With Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent. Evidence that all coaches, volunteers, and staff meet legal child‑safety requirements. 4. Governance documents. Such as your constitution, board/committee structure, or governance charter. 5. Financial documents. Recent financial statements, budget outline, or evidence of responsible fund management. 6. Program proposal. A clear description of the program you are seeking funding for, including goals, activities, and expected outcomes. 7. Risk management plan. Identifying potential risks and outlining mitigation strategies, especially related to child safety. 8. Insurance certificates. Public liability, volunteer insurance, or other relevant coverage. 9. Monitoring and evaluation plan. How you will track outcomes, participation, and safeguarding compliance. 10. Letters of support (optional but recommended). From community partners, schools, or local leaders demonstrating community need and trust.

Deadlines

Funding rounds operate on set deadlines to ensure a fair and transparent assessment process for all applicants. Expressions of Interest (EOIs) can be submitted at any time, but full applications must be received before the published closing date for each round. Late submissions cannot be accepted, and organisations are encouraged to apply early to allow time for eligibility checks, document review, and clarification if required. All applicants will be notified of outcomes within the timeframe specified for each funding round. As far as timelimes go we are happy to accept Rolling EOIs With Fixed Assessment Windows. EOIs accepted year‑round. Our normal assessment windows are March, July, and November and we work within the follow full application deadline as follows: • 15 March • 15 July • 15 November As a guidline, decisions are announced within 4–6 weeks of each deadline. We believe this provides the right amount of flexibility and will allow us to mange high‑demand environments, and also to support urgent or time‑sensitive programs.
